We coordinated and implemented more than 100 grand openings throughout Florida, including Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Fort Myers.
In addition, we set up, staffed and managed several hundred more store events in connection with product rollouts, simultaneously coordinating and managing these events in multiple cities (often on the same weekend). We promoted free Slurpee giveaways on 7-Eleven Days throughout Florida, and coordinated Operation Chill with police and sheriff offices throughout the state with coupon giveaways for children doing good deeds.
We conducted media events at select stores in each Florida market and served as the local contact for the media attending these events. For all these events, we pitched media, negotiated added value in radio buys, hired entertainers, supervised activities and created promotional flyers.
Committed to hands-on service, Susan either personally attended or closely oversaw the management of each event to make sure all went smoothly. And she coordinated the activities with several levels of 7-Eleven personnel, including store managers, franchisees, state field consultants and those in the corporate office in Dallas.
These efforts garnered coverage for 7-Eleven in dozens of newspapers, television and radio stations across Florida. These included daily newspapers in Orlando, Daytona, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Bradenton, Naples, Jacksonville and
We managed public outreach and scheduled media interviews throughout Central Florida for 7-Eleven’s promotion that turned several stores throughout the nation into replicas of the Kwik-E-Mart on “The Simpsons” TV show. The national promotion, which celebrated a milestone in the TV series, earned a Silver Anvil –
one of the highest awards in our profession.
